The town lies at the feet of the Tatra Mountains – the highest Polish picks and belongs to the most well known places in Poland. Zakopane attracts tourist by its beautiful views, crystal clean environment and a fascinating culture of the highlanders (Gorale).
The absolutely unique atmosphere of the town is also created by the many pubs, cafés, galleries, markets and restaurants.
One of the many attractions of the Zakopane region, in the summer season, is Dunajec River rafting. The route is about 15 km long and the whole event lasts for 2-3 hours. The participants are sitting in the typical for the region wooden rafts led by the experienced raft guides (flisak).
